Exercise 7 - Designing Front Page
Objective: The idea behind this exercise is to instill in you to develop the skills
of designing different pages in a newspaper. You would assume that the dummy
designing requires the same skill. However, you need to decide on what stories
to select for the main page and what stories could go inside. At the same time,
the layout of cover page varies from that of inside page. It should also be
noted that while designing the layout of inside pages too, they would differ
depending on the concepts like sports page, edit page, supplements, review
page, etc. These need tasteful designing and hence the selection of these
exercises from 7 to 12.
Exercise:
Design
a Front page for the newspaper taking the photocopy of the style sheet provided
in the appendix. The example given above will help you design the dummy.
