Exercise 6 - Writing Columns
Objective: Traditionally it is a subject expert or senior journalist who maintains a
column in a newspaper / magazine. However, with the changing concepts in
journalism, newspapers ear mark some space for new comers or for people not so
well known. Even though such experiments appear to be missing in English language
dailies, the regional language newspapers are encouraging the new writers. The
exercises given here will provide some help to those who are interested in
column writing.
