Q. 1. What is meant by ‘organizing’? Explain the need for organizing. Discuss the role of Top Management in Organizing for Quality Management.

Answer:Organising is a step-by-step process. At each step, an important task is performed by the administrators working at the top-level of management.

While organising, the top managers carry out following important tasks:-

·         In this general eight-stepped process, the top management first fixes the common objectives of the organisation.
·         In the second step, they (top management) identify all the activities (i.e. works or jobs) which are required to achieve these predefined objectives.
·         In the third step, they group similar (related) activities and make their individual departments.



Q. 2. Define the term ‘Leadership’. Describe the major leadership theories.

Answer:Leadership is both a research area and a practical skill, regarding the ability of an individual or organization to "lead" or guide other individuals, teams, or entire organizations. Answer:Every day, people are inundated with decisions, big and small. Understanding how people arrive at their choices is an area of cognitive psychology that has received attention. Theories have been generated to explain how people make decisions, and what types of factors influence decision making in the present and future. In addition, heuristics have been researched to understand the decision making process.



Q. 4. What are various training methods under ‘on-the-job’ and ‘off-the-job’ training?

Answer:Management development is a systematic process of growth and development by which the managers develop their abilities to man­age. It is concerned with not only improving the performance of managers but also giving them opportunities for growth and develop­ment.
