1 Explain Networking behind the Server.
Answer: A server is a running instance of an application (software) capable of accepting requests from the client and giving responses accordingly. Servers can run on any computer including dedicated computers, which individually are also often referred to as "the server". In many cases, a computer can provide several services and have several servers running. The advantage of running servers on a dedicated computer is security. For this reason most of the servers are daemon processes and designed in that they can be run on specific computer(s).

Servers operate within client-server

2 Write short notes:
1) JBOD
Answer: JBOD (for "just a bunch of disks," or sometimes "just a bunch of drives") is a term used to refer to a computer's hard disks that haven't been configured according to the RAID (for "redundant array of independent disks") system.
JBOD (for "just a bunch of disks," or sometimes "just a bunch of drives") is an array of hard disks that haven't been configured according

Spanning or concatenation is an additional configuration that can be applied by volume managers to combine JBODs into larger logical volumes or LUNs (logical unit numbers).

2) NAS.
Answer: Network-attached storage (NAS) is file-level computer data storage server connected to a computer network providing data access to a heterogeneous group of clients. NAS not only operates as a file server, but is specialized for this task either by its hardware, software, or configuration of those elements. NAS is often manufactured

3) Discuss the advantages of NAS over traditional file server.
Answer: Customers are often presented with the dilemma of moving file servers to NAS (CIFS shares) or virtualizing the file servers. The latter keeps the environment largely “as is” with the flexibility benefits of having servers virtualized. On the

3 Write short notes on:
(i)Simple Name Server (SNS)
Answer: The real name service in the Internet is used to resolve the mapping between a hostname and an IP address. The server will run on a machine at a defined port number. The clients, called resolvers, will contact the server with queries about hostnames and IP addresses. On receiving a name service query, the server will lookup

4. List and explain the elements of CAS.
Answer: The Central Authentication Service (CAS) is a single sign-on protocol for the web. Its purpose is to permit a user to access multiple applications while providing their credentials only once. It also allows web applications to authenticate users without gaining access to a user's security credentials, such as a password. The name CAS also refers to a software package that implements this protocol.

CAS is an enterprise Single Sign-On solution for

5 Write short notes on GBICs.
 (a) GBICc
Answer:  A gigabit interface converter (GBIC) is a standard for transceivers, commonly used with Gigabit Ethernet and fibre channel in the 2000s. By offering a standard, hot swappable electrical interface, one gigabit port can support a wide range of physical media, from copper to long-wave single-mode optical fiber, at lengths of hundreds of kilometers.

(b)HBAs
Answer:  A host bus adapter (HBA) is a circuit board and/or integrated circuit device that provides input/output (I/O) processing and physical connectivity between a server and a storage device.
Equip storage solutions with the connectivity needed to meet any scaling needs from the smallest SMBs to the largest datacenters. LSI HBA cards can enable an easy, long-term storage growth strategy in practically any direct-attached storage

6 How do you troubleshoot the problems of server to target connectivity?
Answer:
 1) Network issue,
2) SQL Server configuration issue.
3) Firewall issue,
4) Client driver issue,
5) Application configuration issue.
6) Authentication and logon issue.
